APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applications are furnished by the Clifton Education Foundation Scholarship Committee for dissemination to Clifton High School students through this online portal or the guidance/counselor’s office. Applications should be completed in full and submitted electronically by April 5, 2024. No late applications will be considered.

By submitting this application, the applicant certifies that the statements contained in this application are true, accurate and complete.

Please read the available scholarship list. Some scholarships have different requirements, such as extra information in your personal narrative, so pay close attention to those details.

Applicant information is password protected and will be available only to members of the CEF Scholarship Committee.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

Residency: The applicant must be graduating from Clifton High School.

Academic Standing: The applicant must be a graduating senior in good academic standing. This standing is to be verified as part of the transcript by an accompanying certification from an appropriate school official.

Graduation: The applicant must graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following the awarding of the scholarship.

School Acceptance/Enrollment: The applicant must enroll, or plan to enroll, in a college, university, or technical school and participate in a curriculum leading to an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree or other certification from technical schools. Applicants should indicate choice of major and career plans.

Activities: Leadership potential and character of the applicant should be demonstrated through an applicant’s responses to the sections of the application detailing school, extracurricular and community activities, work/job history, and other achievements. Personal references should provide additional information as well but are not required for the Buck Ludwick scholarships.

Narrative: Each application must include a typed narrative of no more than one double-spaced 8”x 11” page. In this narrative, the applicant may supply any information, which he/she feels is pertinent to the application receiving proper consideration. Applicant’s name and address must be typed as a heading to the narrative in the upper right-hand corner of the page. You will upload the Narrative to the application. For example: “What sparked your interest in the field you chose to pursue, and what do you hope to accomplish in the future”.

References: Each applicant is requested to submit one or two letters of personal reference from persons who are well acquainted with them. References may be either typed or handwritten and should include the name, address, and daytime phone number of the person making the recommendation, as well as an indication of the person’s relationship to the applicant (teacher, minister, employer, relative, etc.) References should indicate knowledge of applicant’s character, determination to pursue a college or postsecondary education, and any other factors which will assist evaluation. No more than two letters should be submitted per applicant and no letter should exceed one page in length.

Documents required: 1) Completed application form, 2) Uploaded personal narrative, 3) high school transcript (see the counselor regarding this), and 4) One or two personal references (not required for Buck Ludwick scholarships).

DEADLINE

Applications must be submitted electronically by April 5, 2024.

PAYMENT OF STIPEND

It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to notify the Clifton Education Foundation Scholarship Committee of the address of the Financial Aid Office at the institution to be attended. Payment of the scholarship will be made directly to the Financial Aid Office of the Institution in which the recipient is enrolled for 12 or more semester hours or equivalent or full-time student status and is in good standing academically.
